ROAD TRIP TO ALBANY!!!! Part 1

Dawn in the little suburb of Canning Vale.

I love waking up in the morning whenever I’m on holiday, because I know with each brand new day, brings about a new adventure.

One that I can look back on fondly for many years and of course.. share the experience with my readers on my blog :)

I also love little towns and suburbs away from the city, they’re always more beautiful ♥

Coming from someone who has grown up in Singapore, I could never understand all the hype of living near the city.

Who cares about the city lights when only in the country side, you can look up into the vast night sky and see hundreds and thousands of stars twinkling in the distance?

Our trusty little rented car.

Sam shoving all our luggages into the car boot..

My mum and Sam always nag at me for not packing light. How do I pack light when I’m staying for a month in Australia during WINTER?

Speaking of winter, today is an extra cold day… Melbourne is WAY colder than Perth!!!

But it’s ok, I’m gonna whip up a hearty meal of braised lamb and sweet potato mash with a pavlova for dessert later so hopefully that will warm us up.

Gwen and Blake!!!!

Blake is Gwen’s boyfriend just in case you were wondering

Me posing like a goon at 7am in the morning

Oooh doesn’t he look excited :P

Haven’t seen him for a MONTH before this… we were both so happy to be around each other again

And we’re off!!!!

See ya later Perth ;)

Passengers in the back seat!!!!

Road trips with 4 people are the best, any more than that can be a little too big a crowd and any lesser won’t be as fun!

Sam trying to figure out where we’re going with the GPS..

I swear GPS are lifesavers!!! I’m bad at reading maps and trying to do it in a moving vehicle will make me puke for sure. I get motion sickness from just sitting still in a car.

I hate Garmin GPS though… The one my mum has always does stupid things like “keep right, then exit left” or “turn right” when there IS NO RIGHT TURN and when you betray your own intelligence to listen to the dumbshit device, it spontaneously self-destructs and tells you “re-calculating”.. WTF.

Nerd in the morning.. It’s too early for make up and fake lashes

I really really really like driving in the country side!!!

It’s fun spotting colorful birds that fly along beside us and keeping a look out for kangaroos (that I was petrified of hitting with the car) and it always makes me smile when we pass by masses and masses of horses / sheep / cows…

City girls get fascinated by farms ;)

Much love ♥

After driving for about an hour, we made our first stopover at this little cafe cuz we needed to gas up as well

Lovely place to have breakfast in the morning.. Me heart quiet quaint cafes ^___^

Nothing ruins a dining experience more than a noisy crowd.. I like my privacy!

Me warming up my hands with the heater... sooo cooollldddddddddddddddd

Sam trying to act cool… again.

Why do guys always do that in pics!!!

G and B

Our hot chocolate and sandwiches which tasted much better than they look!!! Yummmm

Me and Gwen decided to look for their restroom in the back and we came across bird cages and roses instead!!!

Pretty birds!!!!
I think birds are one of the few wild animals I’m not afraid of.

But Gwen told me this horror story about this boy at her school having his eyes POKED OUT by an angry magpie. As in that little boy is now blind because of that bird.

WTF!!!!! And she got attacked by the same stupid bird herself when walking through that area after school one day…

Got really angry hearing that story because apparently the same stupid bird has attacked many kids and even permanently blinded one but nothing is being done about it except to warn people not to walk through the area during that particular season..

FFS that bird is a huge hazard why don’t you guys shoot it down already.. Who cares about one god damn bird??

If this happened in SG, the dumb bird would be long dead.

And this is one of the rare occassions I love being a Singaporean and living in SG… no crazy wildlife out to poke your eyes out or attack you wtf!

Blake feeding Gwen.. something? o.O

Awww I love how gardens are EVERYWHERE in Australia!!!

Almost everyone has pretty flowers grown in front of their houses :)

And I don’t even have to worry about getting close to them because it’s winter and the butterflies are DEAD!!! *throws confetti*

I can’t wait to have my own house and my own garden.. I love flowers and I’ll be growing my own veg and fruits and herbs and flowers!!! So much fun!

San’s dad is a huge plant person and they have this massive backyard FILLED with all sorts of plants… like the area is almost as a big as their house itself!

They have their own lemon tree (it’s funny watching Sam jumping and trying to get the ripest ones at the top) and they grow their own cucumbers, etc etc.. Imagine that!!!

Having your own lemon tree. *sings* “I wonder how, I wonder… Yesterday you told me bout the blue blue sky… But all that I can see, is just another lemon tree!”

After breakfast, we’re off on our merry way again… making our way to Albany which is a FIVE HOUR drive away.

Thankfully most of the drive was super fun and not boring, because these two provided us with endless entertainment

From their silly little antics to blasting music from their iPod dock and singing along with it!!!

I love long and scenic car rides and I love music… Combine these two and you get the awesomest karaoke session!

I really miss singing along to Blink 182 and other fun songs in the car!! WAhhhhh.

It’s cool how we all listen to pretty much the same type of music ♥ It’s like no matter how different you are, you can still relate to each other in one way or another.

Our next stopover was beside this extremely picturesque railway track!

We pulled over for a short rest and to do some stretching, looked to our left and hey waddya know?

A perfect photo opportunity and we got right to taking super awesome shots!!!!

Took some shots for G and B and I love them, sooo happy looking!!! They’re so cute together :)

Hahaha Gwen loves jump shots :)

And I am awesome at taking them hehehe /shameless much/

Emo Blake.

And I don’t understand how his toes didn’t freeze up and fall right off his feet while wearing slippers in this weather!!!!!!

Group photo!!! ♥

Awwww fun times :’))))))

Time for me and Sam’s shots!!! We’re lazier and less active so we just sat down on the tracks instead rofl

We attempt to do a jumping shot and it turns out like… this? LOL

Happy girl!!!!!!!!!!

……..Not so happy girl :3

Hahahaha I love how we’re having fun and taking pictures in the middle of NOWHERE.

We checked the weather forecast several days before and it predicted that it was gonna be stormy and bad... but it couldn’t be anymore beautiful.

It was relatively warm, sunny, and just gorgeous.

Someone up there loves me!!!!!!!!!!! ♥

We continue our long drive…

The time passed pretty quickly with playing “I Spy With My Little Eye” and telling horror stories and riddles…

And we arrive at ALBANY!!!!!!!!!

Albany is a small coastal town that’s endearing and very very photogenic!! You’ll see why later.

Say hi to OCEAN MIST VILLA!

This was our little holiday home that we rented… isn’t it cute?

Ever since I discovered staying in holiday homes, my trips have never been the same again!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I truly love hotels and their poshness and whatever but holiday homes just give your holiday that extra homely and special touch.

I love being able to experience living in proper houses in different parts of the world… fully equipped with kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, and even SPAS!!!! (jacuzzis but they call em spas here)

They’re cheaper, bigger, and fucking awesome!

I’ll show you what I mean:

The living room with DVD players and free inbuilt DVDS for your enjorment!!!! Hate it when hotels charge like 20 bucks for one DVD wtf.

Sam and I spent like 80 bucks on in-room DVD entertainment during our Orlando stay LOL

The dining table with a fresh vase of lilies that they specially put there to welcome us!!!

Sooo cosy…I think they’re lilies? Whatever flowers they are, they’re absolutely gorgeous!

I ADORE having flowers around the house, even more so if they’re fresh and real!!!!

Instant homely touch ♥

Gorgeous deep pink

Pink and white flowers sure to make a girl’s heart melt… I‘m a fan of roses but these are like a breath of fresh air!!!

The kitchen!!!

Where we cooked up a storm later on that night (read: world famous creamy mushroom pasta hehehe)

Another plus factor for holiday homes instead of hotels is that you get to fit so many people into one house for the same price of a hotel room!!!!

Ocean Mist Villa had three bedrooms, plenty good accommdation for 8 people or perhaps even more! (there’s couches and whatnots)

Tired Sam from driving 5 hours ish…

*huge kisses*

The first activity we got up to was checking out THE BEACH!!!!!!!

We specifically chose a house that was right next to the beach, that’s why it’s called Ocean Mist Villa!

And I’m so glad we did……… because it was BEYOND STUNNING:

It really is something, isn’t it? :’)

Regardless of which country I travel to, the beach is always a must in my itinerary..

Even when it’s freezing cold in the winter. Because there’s just nothing like standing on sugary white sand and waking up the soothing sounds of the waves and the ocean and of course, feeling the ocean breeze in your face!!!

No matter how many times I’ve seen beautiful beaches, they ALWAYS blow me away and never fail to make me happy ♥

That’s me going “OMG BABY IT’S SO PRETTY OMG I LOVE IT OH WOW OMG” while jumping up and down lol

Happy people hehehe

This picture makes me tear a little.

I want to grow old with someone and take special walks with them along a magnificent coastline in the morning with our trusty little doggie too :’)

Sammy boy :P

Sneaked a pic of them making out… I’m not a stalker, they just make out heaps!!!

I turned around to snap a pic of them and what else are they doing but of course.. exchanging saliva again :P So I took the pic anyway

We went to sit beside them on the sand and they pointed out a dead pufferfish in the corner… Wtf what’s a small pufferfish doing in the middle of the beach?

Aren’t they found in the deep seas??

I leave you guys with yet another breathtaking photo of Albany….

Gonna go cook for Sam’s family (again lol) now, AHH I LOVE COOKING IT’S SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

When I was younger I used to think that cooking was a chore and only for housewives who had no choice but to do it and consisted mainly of de-scaling fish and de-gutting chickens HAHAH

But ever since I picked up baking, it opened new doors for me and I discovered a part of me I never knew…. I love food but whoever thought I’d love making food too!

Ok well I really gotta go now cuz Sam’s staring at me intently waiting for me to finish lol I’ll contonie this post in a day or two (again!!)

MUCH LOVEEEEEEEEEE

****TO BE CONTINUED***

Arriving in Perth!!

Hai people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutely freezing my ass off right now. To use the computer in Sam’s house is a torture, because to plug my lappy in, I have to unplug the heater which is one of the worst things you could do in the winter.

I officially cannot feel my hands anymore.

But anyway, I PERSERVERE so here I am being your lawfully wedded blogger upkeeping her duties!

I’ve finished editing a bunch of pictures, at least a hundred I think, and although they have zero photoshopping but it will have to do since I don’t have the time to sit around liquifying to make my jawline smaller!

So let’s start from the very beginning…

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Time: 6am ish

Where: Singapore

*mum knocks on my door*

“OI!!! It’s six plus already, if you don’t wake up now you’re going to miss your flight”

Upon hearing this, I jumped out of bed and rushed to put on some clothes although I was extremely tired since I had only about an hour sleep before.. was packing my clothes 2 hours before take off.

Procrastinating at its maximum.

Well I thought I was all good to go but my stupid luggage suddenly decides to die on me and wouldn’t close properly!!!

Maybe it was due to the fact that I had a LOT of shit jam packed into it, but we had to repack the entire thing and I ended up lugging 2 heavy luggages which is a nightmare for me because I was going to be traveling alone and I have so many things to carry and it just freaked me out!

Anyway fastforward a bit, I end up reaching pretty early despite all the yelling and drama at home and I still had time for breakfast before I went into the gates.

.
.
.
.
.
.

Here comes the golden bit:

We all know how flights can be really uncomfortable when you’re a few thousand miles up in the sky, right?

So I made sure to dress really comfortably – comfy leggings, a super loose, airy and sheer tank top paired with a thick jacket to keep me warm.

I went bra-less because I hate wearing bras on flights (or actually, anytime. agree girls? so uncomfortable!!!) and I thought it’d be fine and nobody would notice since I had a super thick jacket on…

But I COMPLETELY forgot that to pass immigration and customs, you have to take off your jackets and shoes!!!!!

I absolutely panicked but I couldn’t just bolt out of the line since I was already like preparing to board the flight and I would look very suspicious..

I was wearing nothing but a tank top inside and it was VERY sheer! Like can see my belly button kinda sheer.

When I got to the front of the line, I had no choice but to take off my jacket, and I had to walk through the security offers and the metal beeper thing with my arms across my chest, obviously feeling VERY naked and I think I saw a few people smirk and point at me.

FML MAJOR!!!!

So much for dressing comfortably… how effing embarrassing was that? *face palm*

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

My flight with Qantas was pretty good, almost zero turbulence thank god… I was seated beside 2 other asian girls (yay no obese farting perv and no crying babies I need to stab) and I pretty much slept through the entire thing.

Traveling alone isn’t as bad as I thought… I guess it’s more of the fact I was worried that if the plane crashed I couldn’t turn my head and face my loved one beside me and tell them how much I loved them and I would die a very loney girl.

Anyway fastforward even more, I arrived in Perth and fucking immigration took like 1 and a half hour (SERIOUSLY) and I almost died waiting in line.

But all was better because when I walked through the gates of Perth’s airport, I see a very excited Gwen waving to me and it felt nice to have somebody welcome you to their country!!!!

I can’t believe I’m with Gwen again, I was in Perth with her in March 2009 and more than a year later we’re still in contact and going on fun trips together. *tear*

I miss you baby gurlllllllll!!! (“v”)

(He must’ve been an orang utan in his past life)

We waited for Sam to arrive from his domestic flight (Melbourne to Perth) and then we took a taxi to Bayswater Car Rental to pick up our rental car!! (taxis are effing expensive here, like 40 bucks for a short trip)

SAM DRIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahaha that was the first time I’ve ever seen Sam drive and we’ve been together for almost a year wtf.

It was so funny seeing him do adult stuff… Most of the time I still see him as this small little bouncy boy who’s always bugging me for cuddles.

His driving is pretty good though… quite smooth and safe, didn’t get motion sickness from car rides like I usually do :)

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

We drove off to Gwen’s house to stay for the night!!!

We had an early start the next day so no point checking into a hotel…

Gwen’s room!

Green everywhere… The complete opposite of me. She hates pink and I love pink, she loves green and I hate green :P

She keeps her room so organized, mine’s like a complete mess lol

Oh and her family is SOOOOOOOO nice.

Her parents invited us to join them for dinner and we had a little chit chat.. They were really cool people, not like your typical old fashioned asian parents. Very modern and fun to talk to!

Cute little brothers too… I wish I had younger siblings.. Or one that’s slightly older than me!

Sam being a monkey in her room wtf double decker beds so nostalgic!!!

Gwen’s Green Carpet!!

Oh I love carpeted (sp??) floors in COLD countries… It really protects your feet from the icy cold floors! It’s winter in Australia now and it’s pretty damn cold here. (although not as cold as Orlando was)

Lol Sam brought these for me cuz he knew my feet would be cold!!!!

I love these, they are so comfy and uber cute.. Never have to worry about misplacing bedroom slippers again – how can you lose something so bright yellow and bulky?

I was super tired from my flight (I didn’t get any sleep the night before!) so we took a nap for a few hours and Gwen went on a date with Blake…

It felt kinda weird to be sleeping in somebody’s room for the first time without the owner of the room herself even being there, I felt like such an invader wtf.

She came back home, and we drove out to get Domino’s Pizza!!!!!

Wtf I love Domino’s, they’re so cheap and pretty good for what they’re worth!

It’s like 9 bucks for a whole pizza and they’re not stingy with the toppings.. Damn Pizza Hut is like 21 bucks for the same size but so much poorer quality.

They also have yummy garlic bread and chocolate lava cake and a whole heap of other stuff… LOVE it. Wish they had Domino’s in Singapore.

.
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
.
.

We showered, changed into comfy clothes and started discussing our plans for tomorrow..

Lol that’s my sleeping outfit!!!! Major fugly but stupidly comfortable.

We got into bed and it was so hard for me to fall asleep because it’s so quiet and pitch black in Gwen’s house!!! Like ear-piercing quiet, there wasn’t any noise at all so I made her put on some music before I could fall asleep lol.

In Singapore, I’m used to having flashing lights from my laptop and computer screens and noise from my air conditioning plus flashing lights and engine sounds and the occassional motorcycle screech coming from the highway (PIE) that my house is right next to!!!

For a moment there I felt slightly homesick (already lol) but it didn’t take very long for me to fall asleep.

According to Gwen I was farting throughout the whole night HAHAHAH wtf we had a lot of pizza at like midnight, so after that I felt like farting heaps but I held it in (not nice to fart in somebody elses room what) and my body actually decided it was a good idea to fart at night when everyone’s supposed to be asleep and wouldn’t notice…

But nobody was asleep except me FML!!!

Gwen was playing on our iphones for a long time and Sam said I farted so loud that he woke up HAHAHA no lies omg I’m seriously lol-ing now.

.
.
.
.
.
.

Anyway I have to prepare to go out now, we’re going to see the Titanic Exhibition in Melbourne Museum omg!! Titanic is like my fav movie. *cue my heart will go on music*

After that we’re watching Inception, which is apparently a very good movie at their imax theatre, which is apparently an 8 story high wide screen wtf.

Can’t wait!!

Will post the rest of the trip hopefully tomorrow or the day after.

A LOT OF SUPER GORGEOUS PHOTOS THEN!!!!!!!!!

Jess

Parasailing and Hyatt Grand Cypress

I know Orlando was like half a year ago (wtf did the time go?!?), but I still gotta blog about EVERYTHINGGG because I want to be able to look back on every single memory I treasure in my blog!!!

So here’s a compilation of random times me and Sam spent in Orlando, Florida:

LOL before we left for Orlando, my mum said “Take a picture with Tiger Woods if you see him!” (he lives in Orlando) so we did!!! So lame but we couldn’t resist :P

Victoria’s Secret!!!!!!!!

One of the few stores I’d automatically dive into whenever I see it. I LOVE VS, especially the factory outlets in the US because everything is so crazily cheap!

Bought a shitload of stuff. I got a maxi summer dress for only 15 USD and a gorgeous bikini for 10 USD!! Plus they had lotions, soaps, scents and everything going for 5 for 20 dollars or something.

Their cosmetics were even better - I bought numerous lip glosses and blushers / eyeshadows for only 2 USD each. Two!!!!!

Yummy food!

Their food in small little eateries are the best cuz they’re home made with love, the big chain restaurants are usually unnecessarily expensive and taste like shit.

Nonetheless, we decided to give the classic American diner a shot and it was absolutely lovely!!!

Was almost like Billy Bombers in SG, but less modern.

I have a huge soft spot for everything vintage and retro, and I absolutely ADORE classic diners because they have great comfort food plus they play my fav oldies! ^.^

The Beatles, Carpenters, The Everly Brothers, Pat Boone, Elvis Presley, and the list goes on… Perfect music to go along with a root beer float and a cheeseburger, really.

Actually, it’s perfect music for any mood, any time, anywhere.

I love root beer. Especially floats! My official favourite soft drink and I have it almost everyday, I usually have it for breakfast WTF.

But you know what I hate?

When restaurants serve you root beer float without giving you the entire bottle of root beer.

It’s like, they just fill the cup up with root beer and keep the rest.

WTF everybody knows root beer float is 99% foam and ice cream!!! How cheap can people get!

They actually make your burger right in front of you… Talk about building up your appetite

The best burger I’ve had in America was actually cinema food. How crazy is that?

I also didn’t know that their cinemas support free seating, so we ended up getting front row seats while watching Avatar 3D -____-

Maybe that contributes to why I think why Avatar is one of the most overrated movies of ALL time.

Around every corner of every street you turn into in Orlando, there will always be something new and interesting waiting for you!

Near the mall we were at, there was Wonderworks - An upside down building!!!!!

It’s funny to actually see a real life topsy turvy building.. used to read about it all the time in Enid Blyton’s books!

Parasailing

I love this picture! The grass may not be greener on the other side, but their skies are definitely a different shade of blue.

It was a GORGEOUS day to be parasailing and I was sooo psyched because I’ve been wanting to try parasailing for the longest time ever!

How epic is being suspended hundreds of feet mid air by a colorful parachute that’s tied to a speedboat?

We did our Parasailing experience with Sammy Duvall’s located on Disney property! In fact, it was right beside Disney’s Contemporary Resort

An exceptionally warm day for the freezing winter we spent there

Weee, it’s time to hop onto the boat and get ready to be strapped in!!!!

Sam getting strapped up!

We chose a tandem flight, which means me and Sam were parasailing together! He was right NEXT TO ME!!!!!!

They attach you to all sorts of ropes and harness, and when you’re nicely secured, they get you to sit on the back of the boat…

And within seconds, you will find yourself magically levitating into the air while the parachute gently lifts up while the speedboat gains speed!

FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That blob of a shadow is us in a parachute!!!

One minute you’re sitting on the back of a boat, and the next thing you know, nothing but water is below you!

I think the beauty of parasailing is how smooth and safe yet incredibly exciting it is.

It really is an experience like no other ♥

Squinty eyes cuz the sun was shining really bright and so much wind was in our faces! But look how high we were going!!!

With every second, you get higher and higher into the air…

And the exciting part comes when the speedboat makes a sudden turn, because that tugs on the ropes really quickly and hard so you’ll find yourself lunging forward without being able to control the movements at all!

Almost feels like you’re falling, since the only thing keeping you up is a harness that’s attached to your body!!

You don’t even get to sit on anything. That’s why I think it’s the closest feeling to flying (besides hang gliding of course)

It looks like this.

As in, that’s ALL there is to it!!!!

Feels so unprotected wtf! But it’s ok, at least you know that when you fall, water is below you and there’s still your parachute

Yeah, this will definitely be a good picture to show the grand children :P

We opted for the highest one. I think we were more than 30 storeys above ground level

Disney Contemporary Resort

Yeah man, who the fuck thought one day we’d be playing L4D online as total strangers in different counrties and less than half a year later and halfway across the globe,

we’d be doing this!!

Now I can cross one more activity off my “Things to Do before I Die” list.

Parasailing?

Check.

In all honesty, it was one of the best experiences of my life!!!

♥ I just can’t wait to do it again

I uploaded the video of my experience through First Person View and I’ll embed it here for your viewing pleasure!!

You can see how we slowly gained height, and if you look closely enough, you can see Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in the background :D

LOVE!!!!!!

And this is why I ♥ my life.

After parasailing, it was time for more unhealthy American food…. Yum, heart disease!!!

Sam biting into Mickey made out of rice crispies! Everything comes in the form of a mouse head there.

Went back to our hotel for some rest after that. It was our first day staying at the Hyatt Grand Cypress - apparently it has one of the best golf courses in the world and Tiger Woods himself plays here!!!

They had a parrot in the lobby, wtf!!!

Oh the joys of going on holiday during Christmas. Decos are everywhere and it really is just so much cosier and warm

Took a picture of the lobby while going up the lift – full-glass panel lifts freak me out!!!!

It’s funny how roller coasters and parasailing don’t scare me but looking down while in a lift does.

It feels like I’m going to fall every time I look down!

This is what most of Orlando looks like - lakes, greenery, probably golf courses and a hotel with diners nearby.

View from our hotel room window – what we woke up to every morning. Quite pleasant indeed.

The first thing we did when we got into the hotel room?

Unloaded Tilly onto the bed wtf. So freaking big!!!! You have no idea how hard it was to get him around everywhere, really.

Aww look at that happy couple.

I miss you. :’)

Decided to explore the hotel more since it’s one of the oldest yet highest rated one there…. this was where we had breakfast in the morning!

Hahahahaha what a Disney whore!!!! + Looking quite fail since I was completely exhausted

Gorgeous pool… which we unfortunately had no time to dip in -_- And weather was freezing

My camera ran out of juice after taking this picture, so that’s the end of this entry.

My favourite thing about the Hyatt was that it had a private beach and lake for the guests, so we spent out evening just sailing into the sunset with the free boats that they loaned us!!! :)

I wish days like these could never end.

Universal Studios

I feel sooooo much better!!!

Sam’s on the flight back home now, and even though we haven’t really talked a lot about our situation, I already feel like things are fixed. I guess all I really needed was a big, big hug and reassurance that all this effort will not be for nothing and that we’re both not wasting our own time. I snapped about a week ago because there was just so many things on my mind. Most of the time, relationship problems are the least of my concerns.

People seem to be under the impression that I lead a stupidly carefree life, which makes me wonder how naive they really are. I must be doing my job right then.

It’s good to be real and post about how you are REALLY feeling deep down inside every once in awhile, but nobody wants to have to read the diary of an emo kid every day.

Everyone has their own problems, I try to trouble others with mine as infrequently as possible.

.
.
.
.
.

So anyway, besides writing melodramatic posts on my blog, I also enjoy traveling across the world and visiting their theme parks whenever I can, so here’s a post on my time spent at Universal Studios!!!

Hehehe so cute!!!!

This is Bob, my baby shamu accompanying me at the breakfast table while Sam ran up to the hotel room to grab our memory cards for the cameras.

Oh how I miss starting every morning in Orlando with the heartiest breakfasts ever!

We ordered breakfast and I had fillet of steak, baked potatoes + tomato and scrambled eggs which was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had :D

That’s one of the great things about staying in a 5 star hotel – you can order absolutely anything on their menu and it will still be yummy yum yum!

*insert random weird narcissistic picture of myself cuz I can*

O hai, Universal Studios!!!

Where movies come to life!!!! I love movies and I love theme parks – this definitely works for me! ;)

I remember the first time my Dad brought me to Universal Studios. I wasn’t too excited at first, I just wanted to stay in Disney the whole time but I ended up loving it to bits because it’s like a theme park for older people.

You don’t get to see the mouse anywhere, but you get really cool effects and spectacular shows! Plus the buildings and architecture is quite amazing.

Instead of taking pictures with Disney Princesses, you get to take a pic with Marilyn Monroe & friends!!! How snazzy do they look?! I do love that fur coat.

I ADORE everything vintage - I wish I was born in the ’60s!

I love their era of music, fashion, and somehow life seemed a lot simpler but sweeter.

Universal Studios is so so so photogenic

Perfect place for people watching and a cuppa in the morning

What a sexy car!!!!!!!

I don’t care for cars, but how can I resist the old school charm of this black baby?

Hahahaha this pose would work better if I wasn’t wearing my boyfriend’s clothes and squinting so hard I didn’t even know where I was looking.

I can’t imagine when I’ll start driving!! But when I do, Sam said he’ll buy me a Pink Volkswagen Beetle Convertible!!! Omg even if he doesn’t I will buy it myself eventually!

I still can’t believe my mum got the white one *face palm*

I was approached by these two super cheeky mascots!

Woody Woodpecker and some monkey whose name I was told is George. Woody has the funniest and most annoying laughter ever!!! Been so long since I watched cartoons on TV. (or anything on TV in general)

It’s real cute and funny when mascots try to flirt with you – they do things like kiss your hand and hug you but the boyfriend can’t do anything!

Out first show was about Horror & Make UpI remember this from when I was about 10 years old!!!

Universal Studios is all about going behind the scenes and into the movies that they make, and this show demonstrates to people how they do certain special effects and make up that you see in their horror films!

For example, they showed us the machine which was used for the transformation from human to wolf in the classic “Wolfman”

The show started off with a big bang – or a scream, for this matter.

This woman came bustling through the doors, flailing her arms around and screeching.. oh and of course, she seems to have a knife stabbed into her bleeding chest.

She stumbled around the room and when she got to my side, I whipped out my camera and said “Ok now pose!” and she actually did LOL

I loved watching her, she’s such a riot and reminds me of Ellen Degeneres!

She and her partner were endless entertainment and original which made the performance so enjoyable to watch.

The best part? It wasn’t kid friendly. Tons of hilariously inappropriate jokes - Love it.

It was great to leave Disney behind for a bit.

Nothing says picture perfect like an arm that’s being cut open!

Sam in a fab mood after watching a great show.. and the person behind him obviously wants some attention so Congratulations, you’re on Underage-Girl’s blog now!

E.T ride!!!!!!

I heart this ride, you get to go on flying bicycles throughout the E.T adventure, and how often do you get to sit on bicycles that are suspended in mid air?!

So nostalgic :’)

The BEST part about Universal Studios is definitely the fact that they sell express tickets.

Which means you don’t have to wait in line for most of the attractions – for an extra (I think) 30 USD per person, you get to zip to the front of the line for every attraction, once.

So much better than Disney’s Fast Pass system! Come on Disney, you rip people off for everything already, might as well let those who can afford it buy express tickets!

The Fast Pass system is ridiculous because it’s a machine that gives you tickets that tell you to come back at a later timing, which could be anywhere from 15 minutes to 5 hours.

So basically you’d have to plan your day according to the Fast Pass tickets – or you could just wait in line for every ride for 2 hours. (You can only use a certain number of Fast Pass – very limited!)

The worst part is, Fast Pass tickets for the popular rides run out in the early morning and for the poor people in line,
the wait is extended even longer because everytime you think you’re that much closer to the front of the line,
a whole horde of FastPass dickheads would waltz in when their time comes (like 50 of them at one shot) and you’re like wtf, that’s another 20 minutes.

We could have saved like 20 hours of our life. Meh.

Ok *end of rant*

“Pet Ahoy!” show by Universal Studios – Lolol they came up with this story where they made it seem like the little boy actually stole the Orang-Utan’s bra.

They are so human like it’s not even funny!

SIMPSONS LAND!

Sam’s eyes lit up so brightly when he entered the place, he was like “Omg omg kiwk e mart, that’s the mini mart which Apu works at and owns!”

We walked inside and I think he half expected to see a funny looking indian with the most ridiculous accent behind the counter welcoming him, too bad it didn’t happen hahahaha

A little boy excitedly collecting Simpson-pressed pennies :)

Sam LOVES The Simpsons, he swears to have seen every single episode. It’s pretty funny, but a lot of the times I don’t get their jokes about american politics and other things that are so foreign :3

LOLOL HAI HOMER!!!!!!!!!! *pokes belly*

Him meeting Homer would be like me meeting Freddie Mercury or Paul McCartney.

He’s like the biggest freaking mascot ever. I wish Mascots could talk, that would be so funny!!! Everything Homer says is nothing short of stupid and hilarious.

Stopping for a mid day snack

Hot chocolate and Old Fashioned Funnel Cake topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce!

Eeek! Sosososososooooooo good and I can’t get it anywhere else!!!

Funnel cakes are like waffles, but crispier (like big rice crispies!) and coated with lots of icing sugar :’)

The worst act at Universal Studios. The cast were awfully unfriendly (everyone else was super nice) and their performance was just really, really bad. Like cover-your-ears-bad.

What on earth was Universal Studios thinking when they hired them?! We walked out about 3 minutes into the performance. If I wanted to hear bad shameless singing, Youtube is good enough for me.

This was Sam’s favourite – the Revenge of the Mummy ride!!!

Unexpectedly fun but at the same time quite creepy actually, lots of rotten mummys and explosions with REAL fire (you can feel the rush of heat on your face whenever something goes BOOM!)

I love coasters where you can’t see the tracks and you don’t know what’s going to happen next - oh oh, better still if it’s really freaking dark and all you can see are special effects flashing around! Makes it 100 x more exhilarating ^_____^

Outside the attraction, they had people dressed up Egytian style so we had a pic taken with them and they were very creepy and gave weird stares and never talked (part of their roles) and if you make fun of them, they will GRAB YOUR HAIR and pull it without mercy, like what happened to me! T.T

A neat touch to the attraction, but I personally felt the “hostile” behaviour was a little overdone. Scared some kids away!

Pissed Sam off too, when the black dude pulled his hair so hard he went like “OUCCHHHH!”

The eyeliner looks good on you. The topless part looks great as well, but I’m really not quite sure about the hat, sweetie.

Saw this less scary and hotter egyptian angmoh thingy so I did a close up on him and he actually stared into my camera (or at me?) for a very long time, even though he was obviously “posing” for other peoples pictures :P

I’m not a mummy but you can be my daddy any time.

LOLOL I am so bad at coming up with pick up lines

Ending this post with their newest roller coaster called Rip, Ride, Rockit!”

The coaster is HUGE, and the whole thing’s music-themed so you can choose different genre of songs and tracks from specific artistes to be played during your coaster ride! How hot is that!!!!

They have R&B, pop, rock, everything!

The music would be blasting from speakers on your headrest and it would be so loud, you couldn’t hear the people behind you screaming or even yourself!

(images that are obviously not my style of photography / editing are all taken from google)

c

Crazy vertical uphill scale then a DEEEEEEEEEP drop!!!!

Omg I need my adrenaline fix NOW!

We purchased the coaster’s DVD, and even though the footage of us is really short, I don’t think I’d ever be able to see myself on a roller coaster on tape ever again, so here it is!!!

The video shows a lot of animation and graphics and POV riding, so if you just want to see our expressions only, fast forward to 1:03 and again at 1:30 and lastly at 2:09!!!

Wooohooo~ Here we go!!!

* * * JESS AND SAM RIDING RIP, RIDE, ROCKIT! * * *

HAHAHA 1:30!!!

I WILL SURVIVE!!!!!!!!!!

Epcot

Moon River, wider than a mile,

I’m crossing you in style some day.

Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,

wherever you’re going I’m going your way…

Two drifters off to see the world..

There’s such a lot of world to see.

We’re after the same rainbow’s end

waiting ’round the bend,

my huckleberry friend,

Our day spent in Epcot @ Disneyland was surprisingly short, but thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless.

Short because of the ginormous lines everywhere. Note to self – Christmas at Disney is well splendid, however extremely hard to survive.

But at the end of the day, it’s still Disney.

You can’t go to a Disney theme park and not feel on top of the world! :)

It was a beautiful sunny and relatively warm day, a perfect opportunity for me to wear my cropped faux fur jacket.

Isn’t it cute?!

I was hesitant about buying it at first because my mum kept saying no, but it turns out I was right about it looking good on me. Sorry mum, but you’re not always right!

Us and the unmistakable Epcot globe!

The thing about going to popular tourist destinations is that you’ll never have a shot without random people in the back of your pictures. I love all our pics though, they’re gorgeous! ♥

Camwhoring is about the only thing to do while waiting in a line that never seems to move.. that, and the iphone. Whoever disses the iphone can suck it because obviously you’ve never been trapped in Disney lines before.

Which would you pick then, the boring and useless BB or the non-stop entertainment iphone?!?

Our first stop of the day — Mission Space.

Crazily popular, apparently one of Disney’s rides and even though I didn’t like the sound of “People with motion sickness should not ride”, I decided to brave it anyway because I’m gung ho like that.

Turns out it was exactly like what I feared.

They put you into this SUPER SMALL space which looks like this:

Credit to Awesome Florida

..And then it turns dark, and weird spaceship like lights flash all around and they start to spin you like crazy and they do something with the pressure in the cabin so that it’s hard to breathe (like it would be in space) and omg the taking off from Earth part was awful.

It really did feel like I was in a space shuttle shooting up into the sky.

They made the ride super bumpy because we were avoiding meteors or whatever the fuck in space and all that was going through my mind is, “Jess, take in deep breaths and don’t puke all over yourself now, just hold it in”

They even had 3d graphics and all to make it realistic, and there was SOOOO MUCH G-FORCE GOING ON it was a ride like no other, honestly.

I’ve been on hundreds of roller coasters but this one was epic. As much as it made me want to puke (I absolutely hate the ride, btw) everyone else seemed to love it and I must say it was a unique experience.

I’ll NEVER, ever go on simulators again though. They’re just awful and they give me the most terrifying headaches.

But yes, it was a ride well done, Epcot!
Extremely realistic.

I felt like crying after I came out of the ride because I just felt that bad. I didn’t even talk to Sam, I just pointed at a bag of gummy bears and shoved the whole bag into my mouth.

Felt heaps better after that… Thank god for sour gummies!!!

We also bought space ice cream, which was REALLY freakin good.

Tastes nothing like ice cream, but oh-so-good.. if it wasn’t so expensive, we’d buy more!! It was a texture that was completely new – kinda like a biscuit, but a creamy dry version.

One thing I liked about Epcot was that it was more slow-paced, so we could take everything in and enjoy the moment…

Instead of zipping from one roller coaster to the other. That is good fun, but sometimes you need a break from all that chaos.

The days always seemed extra perfect in Orlando.

We’ll walk down this path together

Epcot features a “world showcase” and shows you the different scenery and architecture of different countries..

This was Mexico!

I liked this a lot, they had good food and music. Nice atmosphere :)

We didn’t bother to walk around to see the “rest of the world”. I’d rather see the real thing with my own eyes in the real country!

Here we have… China.

Absolutely filled to the brim with people – the most popular spot in Epcot.

Whether angmohs like to admit it or not, every other white person is obsessed with chinese food and culture. Why be racist when you actually admire what it stands for? Seems to me some people have white supremacy problems.

After being in America for quite awhile, seeing this actually made me miss home.

My favourite part of the day was probably finding NOODLES!!!

OH MY GOD CHINESE FOOD!!! Freaking finally!!!!

I wolfed down the bad-tasting bowl of beef noodles like it was the best meal I’ve ever had.

Unexpectedly finding chinese food in America is like waking up on Christmas morning to realize it’s snowing.

Just… beautiful :’)

I love junk / western food and soft drinks but MY GOD, I swear these people don’t eat anything else except burgers and fries. If you want anything other than that (in theme parks) be prepared to pay 100 USD ++ for just lunch.

We went to walk around their merchandise store and I LOL-ed at this:

Trust Americans to be tactful like that.

It is quite stunning, isn’t it?

So much that me and Sam decided to give most of the attractions a miss to just hang around this place, taking pictures, sharing jokes and people watching…

And doing silly things like:

Seeing how far we can pull his lips using a bitten off end of a gummy

And:

Everytime people walked into the chinese gardens, Sam would stand in front of the gate and bow while saying “WELCOME!” because we were pretty much the only asians there LOL hilarious as hell.

Tired of hearing lame comments about him always carrying my bag (it’s FUCKING heavy, do you know how much shit we chuck inside there when we travel?) so he decided to pose gay once and for all.

Silly boy!!!

We went on this cool water ride that showed us the history and culture of Norway, and it seemed sooo beautiful.. now I REALLY WANNA GO NORWAY!!

I wanna ride on snowmobiles and dog sleds and look at the ever amazing Northen Lights and they even have killer whales. Gosh.

Too many places I have to visit, too little time… and cash.

Some random statues from a China War exhibit

LOL this picture is win!!!

We were waiting in line to take pictures with Santa Claus (I think) and when it came to our turn, the asswipe got up and left, saying he’ll come back an hour later and it was his break time. WTF!

We insisted on taking a picture with him anyway and this was the result.

It got REALLY stupidly cold at night, so I bought me some mittens! They’re probably for kids, but I guess I could pull off some mickey mittens.

Too bad Sam lost one side of them so I only have the right hand left T_T

While waiting for our turn at watching a performance about The Lion King’s circle of life.

My favourite ride, “SOARING” was mad packed with people, so much that I couldn’t go on it!! Omfg I was so disappointed.

It’s one of the most memorable moments in my life, because I remember being 10 years old and going on the ride again and again with my Dad in California. It was our number 1 favourite.

I don’t think any other childhood memory tops that…

I still can’t believe we couldn’t go on it… *smacks head into a wall* Now I’m gonna have to go back to Disney again soon!

If you ever visit Disney, you MUST MUST MUST go on Soaring. We went Parasailing the day after this though, so all was not lost :P

At least he was there to make things better :3

Not going on Soaring didn’t seem all that bad afterall.. (BUT IT IS. I’M CRYING INSIDE NOW)

Check out these cool Seashell cubicles in a Finding Nemo attraction! That movie is soooo cute.

Nemo… where areeEeeEeeEeeee you?

I remember this shark from the movie!

It’s a pity I can’t record all the rides on video,

they’re so magical and whimsical and just plain amazing!

The best part about Disney and yet I can’t capture it to remember it by. Sigh~~

We wrapped up the day by looking at gay dolphins (remember the video? LOL) and buying more sour candy!

Mhmmm, we really did wear those mouse hats everyday, everywhere.

Nothing marks the end of a great day better than..

As usual, stunning fireworks!!!!

This was about the best shot I could get with my hands shivering from the cold. I wasn’t kidding when I said in Orlando, we watched fireworks every night.

Epcot was a great mix of everything - it featured sci-fi action, animals, world class architecture, world peace messages and of course – exhilarating rides.

Orlando, you’ve been too kind to us.. Thanks for yet another unforgettable day.

Sam and Jess, signing off!

Jess
