Mini Golfing at LilliPutt

What do 4 bored people get up to over the weekend, when they don’t want to do the usual activities such as watching a movie or shopping?

..Give mini golfing a swing, that’s what!

I’d first tried mini golfing in Australia more than a year ago, and have been itching to do it again ever since. I know the activity is rather juvenile, more suited for those under 15 to play… but what can I say?? I relish being childish and young at heart. I mean, I publicly broadcast my relationship with my soft toy penguins, for goodness’ sake.

So off we drove, all the way to East Coast Park for some mini golfing fun at LilliPutt.

I don’t actually have any interest in real golfing (well I’ve never tried it) but mini golfing is so funny and brainless, everyone should give it a shot if you’ve never had a go at it – a fantastic couple, family or friends activity!!! Unless you’re actually good at real golfing…. then which, I suppose, you’d find this ultra lame. :P

The rest of you non-elitist people, mini golfing is the next best thing! You just pick up your putter, give it a swing, and wait for the hilarious laughs that will follow.

Lilli Putt has 18 different holes themed according to Singapore’s attractions and landmarks. They were so creative and it was fun exploring the different holes!!! (That’s what he said. Wait, ew no… not really) This one’s something to do with the SAF obviously. And check out how the track goes into a 360 degree turn!

If you’re a local, you’re gonna find these set ups pretty cute and familiar. And if you’re not a Singaporean, here’s a little insight and peek into what goes on in the little red dot called Singapore!

Changi Airport! I miss living less than 10 minutes away from the airport, at Simei. East side is so tranquil and nice compared to the North T_T

What to do when your friend is beating your score

Sam and I get amazingly competitive when we play games with each other. I HAVE to beat him.... I just have to, every single time!!! Be it board games, arguments and mind games (lol). But I ended up losing the round of mini golfing to him by 1 point. Le sigh. S’ok, I got the mind games part nailed. :’D

If at first you don’t succeed…. put the damn ball into the hole with your hand.

The esplanade! Looking, um, disturbingly browned and rusty. When you hit the ball into the passages, the durians light up.

Diana, wrong hole lah!!!!! LOL.

I was impressed by their innovative thinking – this one featured the MRT train system, and you had to wait for the traveling train to stop at its station before putting it into the carriage… and then it would be carried away and deposited into a different section! How fun. *am easily amused*

Me and my crayner Diana. We’re the Jedi Masters. I’m glad a blogging work trip could bring about a valuable friend in my life. ♥

Suntec City.. Going up the escalator!

Diana and Byrne giving us a pose. Spot the famous fountain of wealth at the bottom right of the picture… and the hole for the ball to sink into! Wasn’t an easy feat getting it in there, especially not with ONE shot, but I did it!!!! Woop woop!

At the Jurong Bird Park!

No prizes for guessing that this is at Harbourfront.

When I first saw this exhibit I was like… whatttt?! Since when did Singapore have skiing and slopes like that? Then I realized it was supposed to be the man made Snow City. A bit (or a lot) exaggerated, but…. #okaycan.jpg?

What is your favorite hawker centre food?

Mine is chwee kueh, prawn mee (soupy type), ba chor mee. satay and roti prata!

Haw Par Villa used to freak me out when I visited many years ago. Walking through the different levels of hell and looking at “people being punished for their sins”……. If you’ve never been, imagine this: If you told lies, your tongue will be ripped out from your throat. And there would imagery for all of this. I’m surprised a place as censored as Singapore would allow kids to run about those premises with such gruesome looking statues.

“Jess, why do you always make me do degrading shit for your blog…?”

How the different courses look like when placed side by side

After finishing all 18 holes, we shifted our attention to the arcade machines outside…. and dumped in more dollars than we would’ve liked to get these four toys. LOL.

We didn’t even want the toys, but the cheap thrills from claw machines are just too ridiculously addictive to pass up.

The pink one’s supposed to be me, and other, Sam. Everyone altogether now….. Awwwwwwwww.

Across the border

I made my virgin day trip into Johor Bahru with my Genting Girlies last week!

For the sake of those who don’t live in Singapore, Johor Bahru is a place in Malaysia, literally just a bridge across from Singapore. It’s peculiar how going to another country (Malaysia) from my place would take the same amount of time I’d need to get to Singapore’s city on a jammed weekend. I was super stoked about going to JB, because I’m always hearing stuff about the place from people…. Mostly about how awesome the food is, and how super cheap everything else there is. Occasionally though, you’ll get freaky stories about how thugs will mug you on practically every street you walk on in JB. Which I guess is fair to say… that isn’t too far from the truth, in some areas, if you’re unlucky.
On our bus into JB, I asked the girls who’ve been there before, “Is it really so dangerous there like people say it is???”
Yes“, some of the said, matter-of-factly.
With widened eyes and in an anxious tone…. I replied “OMG, then why are we going?!”
“Because we’re thrill seekers, adventure goers. *giggles*”
I lol-ed. Good enough reason I guess. I don’t regret making the trip one bit – it was so much fun, especially with the great company I had. We spent the day roaming around the mall that was closest to the customs checkpoint (supposedly the safest), eating amazinggg cheap food, trying on pretty make up at Inglot, watching a movie (that was a waste of time, technology there is crap), getting a full body massage and then eating MORE cheap food! What a glorious day of doing nothing and everything.
Incoming: a picture log of our girly day in Johor Bahru!!
First thing we bought in JB was bubble tea.
Because we’re asian tourists.
Don’t judge my bunny hair clip ok!!!! I bought matching bunny hair clips (inside joke) for all of the girls to don on this trip, so of course I had to wear one too. Seemed only right.
Lunch at this steam boat place… IT WAS SO GOOD!!!

I dunno if the food was truly yummy (I reckon it was) or the fact that it was soooo much value for money that it tasted exceptionally spectacular. It only costed us SGD $10 per person, including a giant glass of iced lemon jelly drink.

Normally cheap food comes with lousy ambience or settings (think dying in the heat in a messy / dirty hawker center) but this place had good service (much better than Singapore), plush sofas, chandelier lightings and elaborate interior decoration. WHUTTTT REALLY.

I was blown away. I wish Singapore had quality and affordable restaurants like this!!!!

Super stuffed! May not look like very much from the picture, but trust me… it was the fullest I’d been in 2013 so far.
Food makes us happy. Every girl’s biggest dream in life is to be able to eat and not get fat – finding her prince charming comes a close second.
Walked around the mall raiding their sales for a while, before diving into make up store Inglot and spending the next hour or so being extremelyy vain there. I’ve never tried this make up brand before as it’s not available in Singapore, so I was pretty excited to see what the fuss was about.

I think I must have put on 4 or 5 different lipstick colors!!!

I wonder what guys do when they go out together….
Girls can have imense fun just applying make up on each other in a store, for over an hour. Or we squeal and go slightly nuts when we see a good sale. Or we can just eat and chit chat the day away. Or literally stand in the middle of absolutely nowhere, and start to camwhore. We’re kind of simple like that.
What do guys do???? Sit around and admire each others’ muscles? Go to the arcade (no one really does that anymore)…? Hmmmm.
With my crayner (crazy partner) Diana!!!! So much love for this babe.

She’s so annoyingly naturally pretty. Besides the lipstick colors she’s trying on, she has NO make up on at all… she leaves the house bare-faced. Yet she still looks fresh and youthful. DAMN girl.
Actually I feel like this JB post is just an excuse for me to post up a fuck ton of our vain ass peektures. Lolol. I happen to take a particular liking to how my facial contours are captured on Ziwei’s camera.

Thanks for being the only one who dared to bring her camera into JB, Ziwei!!! All images in this post are from her cam!

I ended up getting this coral-ish orangey hue lippie from Inglot! :D
Love the color, but I have to say I’m not a fan of the consistency at all. Kinda clumpy and dry and does nothing to moisturize my lips or keep it soft / smooth. But since it was cheap and I don’t have a lippie color like that…. why not? I just spam lip balm underneath when I use this lipstick.
Juli, Diana and I with purple, orange and red lipsticks… coupled with purple/red/black and reddish/brown and golden/brown hair. We’re a colorful bunch of misfits.
Adding in Jayme with her pink lippie! Can we get volunteers for brown, black and blue lippies?
We caught the Jackie Chan movie “CZ12″ and it was so…. bad. The movie was okay-ehhh, super cheesy and cringe worthy (but funny sometimes) however the thing that really killed it for me was the cinema. Some of the girls had smelly mouldy seats (gross!!!) and HALF of the damn cinema screen was out of focus! The sound was nowhere near loud enough as well. Thank goddd for Cathay cineplexes in Singapore!
I naturally assumed cinemas were the same all around the world (how much can they actually differ, right?) but as it turns out, the answer is.. a lot. I always take living in a first world country for granted.
Posing outside the place we had bone and ligaments crackin’ massages.
My masseuse happened to be really old… at least 50ish? But she knew all the right spots to press on! It was easily much better than any of my Bali massages. I’ve never heard as many cracks from my body before. I know cracking your bones is bad but if I don’t, I feel like my back will explode. At first I felt bad about having an elderly lady do manual labor on me but then I was like Jesus, This Feels Good. So I tipped her a decent amount :D And all was well in the end.

Walked across the street from the massage parlour to our dinner location…
A really rustic hawker center that served up mouthwatering food!!!! Delish! Speaking of hawkers I really miss my Bedok 85 ba chor mee ever since I moved to Yishun :(
Hungry girls at the dinner table… feeeeddd usssss.
The thinnest of our lot, Diana, is somehow the one that is always hungry and eating. We all have that one friend who doesn’t wear any make up and is pretty, who eats a lot and doesn’t get fat……. she’s that friend -_- Her metabolism rate and stomach must be a monster that never stops working because she’s really always eating and yet she is sooooo slim!!! Dafuckisgoingonhere.
This cereal crayfish was stupidly good that I swore to come back just to have it again.

Except the next time around I’d order the huge portion above just for myself. Salty and sweet flaky cereal goodness with deep fried buttery crayfish goodness…. tell me where to find this in Singapore!!! T_T I don’t even like crayfish!

Demolished. (Y)

Us at the end of the day, taking a bus back to Singapore.
Thank you girls for being ridiculously fun to hang out with, as always!!! There’s never a boring or lonely second with all of you around. You bring so much happiness and adventure to my life. :’)
Because I ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ you 5, here’s a shout out to each and every one of you.

Amanda – The mother hen of our group!!! Always so thoughtful and caring, making sure everyone is alright and having a good time. If you’re upset or if something is wrong, she’s the first one to notice. You’ll make such a good mummy in the future!
Diana - For being my partner in crime ever since our fateful trip in Genting a few months ago, you alwayssss get my lame jokes… and I feel like we really understand each other. We can talk about everything!
Juli - The street smart one who brought us around JB, along with Jayme’s recommendations! When shit hits the fan she is usually the level headed one to bring us back down to earth. And she’s always excited about something!
Jayme – You are super random and you always make us laugh with your nonsense and surprising antics!!! You keep all of us feeling young with your age. LOL.
Ziwei - The dream chaser, whom you can count on to be supportive and super frank with you, no matter the situation. She’s the one who will go the extra mile to get things done.

Now that everything has been said and done, I was extremely relieved that the trip was totally incident free. I’ve had so many people tell me about how unsafe Johor Bahru is, I was almost expecting something mildly bad to happen. I guess I’m scarred by the horrific stories my mother always tells me!!! Stories aside, in all honestly I was truly baffled by how simply traveling across a bridge could transport me to a different environment entirely. Like, everyone knows that Malaysia is really different from Singapore & all… but the truth and fact of the matter doesn’t dawn upon you completely until you step across the border. Then it REALLY hits you like an ice cold pail of water.
The air is thicker and polluted, you can’t roam about the streets freely, you always have to watch your bag because a pickpocket is around the corner, there’s dodgy people everywhere, you can’t wear jewelry or dress up too much because you’ll probably get robbed, so on and so forth.
No offence to Malaysians when I say these things. But I’m sure you guys know how dangerous Johor Bahru is as well. I heard from a Malaysian who travels to Singapore from JB everyday to get into work that her dad waits for her at the bus stop every single night without fail, because it’s just too dangerous to walk on the streets at night alone, even if you’re a local who lives in a populated area… because if something were to happen to you, nobody would risk their own safety to get you out of trouble anyway, so it makes no difference if the area is crowded. Imagine that!
Coming from what must be one of the safest places to live in in the WORLD (Singapore duh), this was a huge culture shock for me. I got a massive lashing from my mum when she found out I went to JB without telling her. Which sort of made me upset because I was totally looking forward to going back to JB with the girls for the awesome food again. :(  My mum said, “Why go to JB??? The food is cheap, so what? Is it worth all the risks? Does it justify walking around without a peace of mind, worrying about your welfare every other minute? A group of pretty young flashy girls like yourselves walking around Johor Bahru is basically a walking advertisement for COME ROB ME.”…. I suppose my mum has a point. e_e
Oh well.
There goes my cereal crayfish and awesome cheap food. That just may be the first and last time I ever go to Johor Bahru. It was good while it lasted, at least.

Jess

6 girls, 1 picnic, tons of fun!!!

I can’t remember the last time I had a picnic in Singapore.

Wait a minute…. I think it might have been never, ever. I believe I’ve never actually had a picnic in Singapore – who in their right mind would be interested in sitting out in the scorching sun when you live in Singapore?! We get too much sun and heat as it is everyday! Well, thank god these girls are absolutely out of their minds, just like me!!! I’m so glad we decided to go ahead with this idea because it turned out to be such a good time despite the dreary weather, which was surprisingly kind to us that afternoon :)

Hellooo pretty ladies! From L-R: Ziwei, Bun (Juli), Amanda.

And this is Jayme and Diana!

Before I bombard you guys with smiley, bright, happy photos of ourselves looking crazy / pretty (whichever you prefer), here’s something I have to say.

I’ve been spending a decent amount of time getting to really know these people recently. I realize the last I’d had a proper clique of all-girls-friends like this was in high school. The friendship didn’t end on a high note, which left me relatively scarred and afraid to be part of girl cliques again because it somehow always leads to unwanted drama, backstabbing or sucking up one way or another. I’m sure all girls reading this can echo an Amen in unison. When you put 2 girls together, they’re fine, 3 girls and its a mess, 4 girls and above… run for your life!!! Generally I prefer to keep mostly individual friends from different parts of my life, or if its a group it would be a mixed guy-and-girl sort of thing to use the guys to tone the bitchiness down… but this time I feel like its different.

I met these girls on my sponsored trip to Genting to film with Reelity TV and we’ve been getting on unexpectedly well together ever since! There is no sense of hierarchy, needless drama involved or unnecessary implications or strings attached… which I love. Just a bunch of very different girls from various walks of life coming together with the pure intention of making new friends, simple as it is. I’d like to keep this friendship the way it is, and I hope it remains this way –  innocent, full of laughter and surprises.. never a dull moment.

Picnic mats laid out, we plop down on a grassy green patch in the middle of Marina Barrage!

Can you believe its my first time here?

I’m always hanging out at Marina Bay Sands but I never bothered going to Marina Barrage despite it being in the proximity… lazy bum. Oh what a view and nice chill-out place I’ve missed out on! So much space to run around on trimmed clean fields of grass and be young & silly. Anyone who hasn’t been here before should plan a picnic for a lazy late afternoon. Bring yummeh food, your camera, umbrellas and speakers to play your favorite music from!

Or you can be like the others & fly a kite in the blue skies… if you can get it up in the air.

I made awesome chocolatey chewy brownies for the picnic!!!

Using my recipe I’ve blogged about before here. I was gonna bring cupcakes, but they would have melted immediately in the sun. I thought the heat might’ve made my fudgey brownies even fudgier and yummy if they’re slightly melted instead. :P

The white bits in my brownies are chocolate mint cookies which I threw into my brownie batter and baked together! It gave it a nice little crunch and minty flavor to break up the chocolateyness.

Some of the stuff that the girls brought: a big salad, egg sandwiches, cherry tomatoes, ham, korean rice wine and cheese tofu (super random items)

..You didn’t think that was all we’d eat, did you?

It was Diana’s brilliant idea to order KFC crispy chicken. I’m not a fan of fried chicken, but it seemed especially tempting that day!!!

We ended up over-ordering so much we could barely finish half of the portion! What a waste. And I can’t believe some of the girls actually ate some of the remaining chicken after it was left in a cold hotel room for hours… cold soggy KFC hahah ewww.

What started out as mild sunny weather with nice breezes turned into strong winds and an overkill sun. Which did THIS to my cheap $8 H&M umbrella. Mary Poppins gone wrong.

I adore how you can see MBS and the skyline in all our pictures!!! It’s so iconic and pretty.

Ziwei and Bunz look too adorable here to not post this picture up!

Wee-u-weet!! Wind swept look!

Group piccy!!!!!!!!!

These here, are my GG – Genting Girlies, Gossip Girls, …Gungho Gangsters..

May 2013 bring about more wild days of us girls wreaking havoc in subtle ways days out like this!!! I know the 5 of you will be reading this!

The kind soul who helped us snap the above group shots. He was so bashful around us, it was funny. Diana nudged me and said “Eh maybe we / someone should take a picture with him, he helped us take so many pictures” and I said ok.

Next moment I’m all like “SCUSE ME MY FRIEND THINKS YOU’RE CUTE CAN SHE TAKE A PICTURE WITH YOU???”

Aaaaaaahahahaha. Hence the half snarl half smile on Diana’s face!!!!

Too adorbs. :)

Had I known the pictures would turned out this nice I’d get down on the grass too instead of being a prissy princess and refusing to!

The older I get, the more I really appreciate living in a safe and beautiful city such as Singapore. Just look at how much its grown over the past few years.

Laughing and smiling becomes instantly contagious whenever I’m around them!

JAYME WHY YOUR FACE ALWAYS LIKE THAT!!!

I’ve learned that not expecting too much out of people you meet will result in more pleasant surprises. Managing expectations, and being the friend you want people to be for you, is important.

I don’t need my friends to hang out with me everyday, or all the time, and its cool if we don’t yet understand each other completely. We don’t need to be BFFs, you don’t have to always agree with me or like the things that I do.

All I ask is that those who choose to share a friendship with me will accept me the way I am – lame jokes, candid antics, outspokenness and all. That they will ignore my superficial past, hearsay stories, and other things I have done and will not judge me for things they do not know the full truth to. People who will be upfront with me about how they feel about me. To look past our differences and to simply enjoy each others company despite how different we all are… to just live while we’re young. It’s okay if you’re not always ready to share my tears with me as long as you’re willing to break out in fits of laughter whenever we’re together. All of this, is a friend enough for me.

You girls make up some 5 beautiful friends ♥

Of course, having common hobbies like singing, make up, frivolous fashion and blogging also add on to our chemistry. And a ridiculous sense of humor is a MUST. See below for evidence.

Diana and Bun kung-fu fighting in the air!!

Jayme and Ziwei attempting a sexy hair flip. While I’m taking these pictures I’m screamin’ “WERK IT!!!!!!!”

Super sexy bitches signing off!

Reelity Showdown at Genting Highlands!

Thanks to the folks at Reelity.tv, Nuffnang Singapore and Resorts World Genting, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Genting Highlands again despite just being there in end June this year!!!

All of the awesome bloggers I had the privilege of traveling with!!!  L-R: Benjamin (roomie), Juli, Beatrice (roomie), Jayme, Myself, Diana (team mate), Amanda and Ziwei! I miss everyone on this trip :’) Everyone got along super well and we shared food, laughter, hotel rooms and even secrets despite most of us being strangers when we first stepped into the coach bus to Genting together.
I had a fantastic time the last trip in June, Sam went along with me and we went to the theme park, had AMAZING food at various restaurants, visited a freaky haunted house and strawberry farm and one of the highlights was literally FLYING in an indoor skydiving tunnel at First World Plaza. Read my 2 part travelogue on Genting Highlands here: Part 1, Part 2. They are picture intensive entries, and this one isn’t much different!

However this time, my objective at Genting wasn’t just to explore its grounds, but also to take part in filming for Reelity Showdown!

Omfg you’ll never guess it but the blue hooded monster in this promotional banner above is actually me. LOLOL HELLOOOO FUGLY.

Reelity TV is a cool website that lets you watch several hilarious online shows all produced locally. Reelity Showdown itself is about online personalities / bloggers battling against each other with random tasks the producers throw at them. The idea is to WIN and be the ultimate champion, of course! Nuffnang has chosen 4 bloggers and 4 participants to pair up in teams of 2 and take each other on as we partake in wildly INSANE tasks around various parts of Genting. It was CRAY CRAYYY and I am soooo excited just thinking about the first episode being released!!! Have you ever wanted to see me attempt stupid looking tasks and fail miserably? Well your wish just came true. Catch me in the yet to be released new season of Reelity Showdown, only on ReelityTV.com!!! Our season airs 30th November, 2012, so keep a look out for it!

Or, read on to the end of the post where I have embedded the video! I bet I look wonderfully bonkers and totes unglamorous as we get mercilessly tortured by the producers and their masochist ideas, but who cares!!! The show will be so much fun to watch! My suffering, for your entertainment. I can’t reveal too much information just yet, but this post will show you some exciting teasers about the time us bloggers & the filming crew spent at Genting Highlands! ;)
On our way there.. 7 hours on a bus together is a lot of time to get to know each other better! Had the whole bus to ourselves, much to my delight, I don’t like the weird stares from strangers I get every time I hop onto the bus.
Seating behind me is Juli, a beauty blogger. She’s so petite and cute!!! You will never guess her age coz she maintain super well wtf. She is actually significantly older, but probably looks even younger than me.
Having a girly chit chat with my roomie, Beatrice, after we checked in at First World Hotel! Got to know her better during this trip since we’d talk about random stuff every night before we fell asleep, like places we wanna travel to and our relationships with our boyfriends… she is such a sweet, sweet girl! Hardworking and beautiful to boot. What a gem.

We didn’t do very/ much the first day after arrival because everyone was exhausted from the long traveling from Singapore besides being treated to this nice meal at Genting Palace restaurant:
So after dinner, we decided to have an early night and woke up early the next morning to commence filming!!

All of Reelity Showdown’s contestants gathered at the Outdoor Theme Park waiting to start our first challenge! We took the challenges very seriously because teams will be eliminated one by one. Game face onnn, beeyotch.
That is my game face btw. LOL I am the ultimate photo bomber in group pics!
I wish I could tell you guys about the challenges but I’m not supposed to spoil too much leh. All I can say is the first challenge involved the outdoor theme park and this ride in particular – pirate ship!!!
Proudly brought to you by Ziwei Sandy, I post her face big big on my blog because she was so kind as to send me many pics we took from Genting :P
A shot of us together
Huge thanks also to Diana, Benjamin and Beatrice for sending me your pictures for me to use too!!!! ♥ Especially Benjamin who took the time to do so even though he was in Taiwan haha. And Diana for sending me the very next day omg. So if you find that the picture sizing / cropping / colors is a little all over the place, its because I’m using pictures from 5 different cameras, lol.
My chosen outfit of the day.
I thought the Penguin shirt would be rather apt because Genting gets quite cold towards the end of the year but it was in fact very warm that afternoon and a few of us got sunburnt. Cheat me one!!!
This is my team mate, Diana!!!! She was an awesome companion throughout the trip, and humored me all the way as I told her lame jokes after another lame joke. She’s so easy to talk to!

Its amazing how much 2 girls can bond over 5 days.

We took the initiative and gave ourselves a group name for easy identification………. And it’s called….. *drumroll*

Jedi.
Because Jessica, and Diana. LOL I see a face palm incoming.
My face after finding out what the challenge was for the day. You’ll just have to stay tuned to see why I was so upset…. @_@
Another teaser of the challenge!!!!! Can you guess what we’re trying to achieve yet?

My sneakers were brand new from H&M’s sale and it gave me a lot of problems during first day of filming coz they hurt so much when I walked! Thank goodness I got it fixed (with a lot of plaster and tissue paper stuffing donated by people) other wise the other teams might have to give me a handicap due to my limping, lol.
Team Jedi after the first challenge looking quite pleased with themselves because they did well!!! (first round anyway..)

So far, so good! #notbad.jpg face.

The second and third challenges were unfortunately not a piece of cake. The second was WTF and the third one was REALLY WTF. As you can tell from their expressions, they were next in line for the challenge hahaha!!!

We had helmet cameras attached to our head to capture our every word uttered and epic facial expressions during the big drop on Space Shot. One of the bloggers actually cried (cannot say who!!) because she was so terrified of the ride…. Poor thing!!!! The ride is really very scary indeed, especially if you’re not comfortable with heights O_O

But I can’t wait to watch that part on video LOLOL #evilfriend

Oh hai Typicalben and Diana!
Us taking group shots inbetween filming segments. I realized filming takes so much more effort than a photo shoot. I thought photos were difficult because you had to set up lighting, pose, do make up, change outfits… for filming you have to do all of that and more and it often takes the whole damn day!!!! We were all knackered by the end of filming day 1.

One day down, three more to go!

Happily walking back to our hotel rooms…. and Beatrice trying to bite my hand off for some reason. She must be hungry!
She need not worry too much because dinner was SUCH a spread. I cannot stress enough how the people at Resorts World Genting never fails to spoil their bloggers every single time!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

You would have realized this if you read my previous posts on Genting, and you will realize it again now.

Our beautiful dinner at Imperial Rama to reward ourselves for a tough day of filming. Thai green curry, wasabi / salted egg prawns, steamed fish and so much more.
Imperial Rama is my favorite place to eat at Genting and I dare say, one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. It serves astounding Thai-Chinese fusion food… check out more pictures of their yummylicious food as I review their food in my Genting Post 1! Over the moon that they served their famous durian tempura this time around, I’d been raving to everyone about it prior to this meal and most of them LOVED the fried crispy durian custard dessert too.
After a sumptuous meal at Imperial Rama, it was time for a luxurious spa treatment at M Spa & Fitness..
And the girls, Juli and Ziwei couldn’t be any more excited ;)
I was filled with so much happiness that night,  almost on the embarrassing brink of tears… because I got to have TWO of my favorite things one after the other in a single night!!! Imperial Rama + M Spa I MUST HAVE WENT TO HEAVEN instead of Genting. Not even exaggerating….. it doesn’t take a lot to make me really happy!
The last time Sam and I did a very unique Hot and Cold Stone massage in a couple’s room, this time I went for a full body Swedish massage which was utter bliss.
M Spa Stress away was the package I chose!

My therapist was not only polite and professional, but she managed to give me a gentle massage while still exerting enough force to take away the stress out of my shoulders and back, my main problem areas. I really don’t appreciate forceful massages that make me feel WORSE after the treatment. The coach ride and long filming day had tired me out so much I fell asleep during the massage…. and felt much more relaxed when I woke up!

No more aching back and muscles! If you ever visit Genting, you have to trust me when I say Imperial Rama and M Spa are world class attractions you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find at Genting Highlands.

Second day of filming – GO!!!!
Typicalben, Shiberty and BeatriceTan are ready for battle! :P
I quite fancy the weather in Genting actually – it only drizzles and hardly rains for long and its always cool + sunny!!! Makes for good photos.

Filming location this time was at Bubbles & Bites – a relatively new Western food restaurant and it was my first time here!

Their food was surprisingly reasonably priced and Yummmeeh. To satisfy your red meat and pasta craving in Genting, this is the place to look for.

Their cute in house crossword puzzle decor on the wall!
Of course, if our shoot set was at a restaurant, naturally, our challenge had to involve FOOD… and we were forewarned it was going to be messy, and mildly embarrassing. Messy, it was. Embarrassing? A little, for some. Most important…… was it funny? Absolutely!!
Let’s just say I never ever want to work in a restaurant. EVER.
Even as a participant I couldn’t help laughing at the plight of the other contestants!
A lot of waiting around had to be done as we waited for the filming crew to set up, so us bloggers do what we do best. Camhoes are out to play!!!

These two bloggers are ridiculously good looking.
And also ridiculously fun to hang out with. ☻
When we’re not busy being bloggers, some of us try to be models. LOL. Wait actually Beatrice actually is one, oops…
LOVE this shot of us!!! Everyone looks so good and the lighting is perf!
Had some time to walk around and go shopping at First World Plaza as filming ended early that particular day and I bought more items than I’d prepared enough Ringgit for!! Debit card to the rescue! Genting actually has a fair bit of Cheaper-Than-Singapore shopping for you to do – I bought a stack of Sasa masks at ONLY $1 each – whatta steal.
I would never allow myself near an actual credit card…. I know myself too well.

Went back to the hotel to nap after I shopped to my hearts content and checked on the others as they were filming! We happened to finish our segment earlier than the rest so we had the free time to do whatever we want.

Someone taking a picture of me taking a picture of something.

Joshua and Finn working the cameras!

KPO-ing behind the scenes!!!!

Noel Boyd is Reelity Showdown’s host, and that’s Rudy, being the sound guy… Build those arm muscles, boy!

Pretty desserts and a pretty girl. LOL wait, what did I just say??
The girls goofing around during buffet dinner time!!!
With our awesome Nuffnang managers, Gabby the hot babe with violet hair on the left and Jayne the cutie pie on the right. :)

Big L.♥.V.E for them pretties!!!~~~~

Ohhh Diana you crack me up so much. This is our #secret #handsign, do not even bother trying to ask what it means because we will not tell you. It’s actually a pretty stupid inside joke but it makes me laugh EVERY TIME Diana does this hand sign and looks at me!!!

What do you mean I look stupid?

With Joshua Ang, director of Reelity TV. You might recognize him as a child actor from Xiao Hai Bu Ben / We Not Stupid / We Not Naughty, some absolutely funny local films that were mad popular back in its time. This job is perfect for him (I think) since he has so much experience with movies and filming!

The filming crew were very nice and patient with us the whole time. Not too overly demanding as it could easily become. It was funny seeing him in real life as opposed to on screen. Speaking of which I think I might go download those films to watch again, I LOVED We Not Stupid. Coincidentally enough he’s the boyfriend of a pretty girl named Clara whom I know through Nuffnang since 2008. Singapore is so darn small!

The gang unwinding by having some beers and screaming along to popular songs. KTV-ing is obviously one of my favorite hobbies! ;)

At Genting, one large room like this was only 25 RM per person. Can you say… CHEAP!!! Singapore KTV why you so expensive? Just one room and a stereo system only what :(( But still we get charged like $50+ for 2 people.

The last activity highlight we experienced at Genting Highlands after filming was completed, is the newly revamped multi-million dollar Snow World! It was closed for renovation for about a year and the new version looks sooo pretty. Perfect for touristy shots, especially intriguing for people who have not been to snowing countries before I suppose!

Couldn’t be bothered with make up on the last day so I woke up, put my hair in a ponytail and headed out immediately. Ziwei’s all like “GET YO ASS HERE” and I’m like “Wait!! Still zipping!!!”

Suited up and ready to freeze our faces off, early in the morning. As soon as I stepped into Snow World I was like “OH MY GODDDDD COLD COLD COLD” and couldn’t really manage to utter any more sense than that. This was MUCH colder than Singapore’s snow city as far as I can remember…

OoooOoooO psychedelic lights!!! Almost resemble an aurora in the arctic circle. I said almost.

Team Jedi having fun at Snow World!

It was difficult climbing those steps in the boots and trying not to slip on slippery ice, so watch your step. Its like they’re going for a European winter feel with the decorations!

I know I complain about Singapore’s weather on a regular basis, but truth be told, I’d still take Singapore’s scorching heat over this unbearable cold any day. Unless I am on holiday with my family during Christmas then I wouldn’t mind if it snowed.

Otherwise… I might just die.

Seeking refuge in a warm igloo!

Pretty lights and soft snow at our feet!!! :) To a Singaporean, it was some kind of magic.

People said Snow World would be dirty but I didn’t find that was the case at all! It was a very pretty place to be, although there isn’t a whole lot to do besides stand around & be cold and take pictures of the uniquely decorated surroundings.

Thank you Resorts World Genting for hosting yet another fabulous trip at Genting Highlands!!!!

And Reelity TV for having us star in the highly anticipated web series, Reelity Showdown.

I just hope they were kind and didn’t use TOO ugly footage of me. A bit or some ugly is okay, too much ugly and I might just bury a hole in the ground and go live in it, lol. Even if you’re not interested in watching me on the show *glares* there’s plenty of other female (and 1 male) eye candy bloggers for you to ogle at.

….SO!!!!
ARE YOU READY TO WATCH THE NEW EPISODE OF REELITY SHOWDOWN?

Reelity Showdown Genting Ep.1
from reelitytv on Vimeo.

Each team had to keep a tall heavy cup full of water steady in our hands while spilling as little as possible throughout several bumpy and slippery Genting Outdoor Theme Park rides!!! It’s really not as simple as it looks, I promise you. Thank god the next challenge is indoors and relatively simpler! And yes, I am a clumsy doofus. T___T I also scream extremelyyyy loud….. It was a wild wild ride in Genting, what can I say? I guess I got thirsty.

Remember to tune into Reelity TV next week for a brand new episode! Where we take stupid, funny and crazy to a whole new level. ;) Perhaps I’ll make a worthwhile comeback to redeem myself to you viewers……… lol.

If you’re looking for a cool weathered, fun-filled place with lots of good food and exciting activities for couples or the whole family, do consider planning a trip to Genting Highlands! A place where you can experience a bit of snow, a sunny day, some New York City vibes, asian culture, western food, an outdoor and indoor theme park all in one day.

It’s not too far away from Singapore, and yet some times, when I’m there I feel like a whole world away from home. I always have a good time there. :)

Halloween Horrors at Universal Studios Singapore

I’ve never really celebrated Halloween properly. (Not that there’s anything to “celebrate” per se)

I’ve always wanted to dress up in a cool (and by cool I mean a non-slutty, legitimate) Halloween costume and go trick or treating with my friends. Having said that, I don’t live in America, so if I wound up knocking on peoples doors in a scary costume asking for candy, Singaporeans would probably call the police on my ass. So the next best way to have fun during Halloween… is scaring the pants off myself at Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights 2!!! Or if you’re a girl in crisis you can go to Zouk / *insert other random nightclub here* baring your midriff and cleavage taking pictures with random horny men.

Thank you Universal Studios Singapore (USS) and Resorts World Sentosa for the invites! I’ve never experienced anything like that night before. I don’t think I have screamed that much in a single evening. It was like doing extreme cardio for 15 minutes straight every time I enter a haunted house!!!

Halloween Horrors at USS runs from 8pm-1am on select weekends during Halloween month and turns the normal day theme park into a freaky haunted house maze and spooky characters galore at night. We went on the very first night the event opened and boy was it crowded like crazy!!! Thousands of people squeezing like sardines just to get into USS. We managed to skip all lines however, thank goodness.

Upon entering the theme park, you’ll realize how much effort has gone into making this event a special one.

They hired hundreds of dedicated scare actors running around the park waiting to creep up on you to give you a fright, there’s loud creepy music playing constantly + convincing props and set ups everywhere… the mood was VERY spooky indeed.

Mother of god.

I mean come on. Make up alone must’ve taken all day!!! I love the attention to detail Universal Studios always delivers.

The highlight of Halloween Horrors is three themed 1) Haunted Houses – Insanitarium (mental hospital)

2) Death Alley (Chinese themed, think creepy old grandmother during 7th month) and 3) Dungeon of Damnation (my favorite! I think this is just a random mix of weird stuff. My personal favorite! Not for the claustrophobic)

No photography is allowed inside the haunted houses so I couldn’t take pictures to show you guys but the special effects were crazily impressive and realistic. I especially liked the room full of fake maggots that we all had to step on hahaha. The most freaky part for me was being alone with Sam in a room that had strobe lights constantly flashing off. Have you ever seen a horror movie whereby the lights flickered on and off in a pitch black room, and every time the light came on, the ghost was nearer to you?

Yep. That happened to me. Except this was in real life and really CONVINCING actors reaching out to grab me and I think I actually almost cried LOLOL. I held onto Sam, closed my eyes shut and wouldn’t budge… he literally had to drag me along. I wouldn’t move unless I had Nicholas on my left, and Sam on my right. I was clutching onto them EVERY step of the way. Imma girl!!! I can be one!!!!!1111

If you think you might suffer from a heart attack from the frights, don’t worry, there’s USS staff stationed every few meters to make sure everything happens in the name of good natured fun, no violence or injury will be involved. If you also think that you won’t be scared, YOU WILL BE. People jumping out at you from every damn corner!!!

Apart from the haunted houses and scare actors, some of the rides are open as well! Most of the roller coasters, mainly.

Everyone had spooky make up on! Every. Single. Person.

Ok maybe except the security guards. See those “blood packs”? They’re packets of passionfruit juice apparently! Cute idea.

I can’t figure out if this is a mask or not!!!! It looks so real! And their eyes… they even went out of their way to buy and put on funky colored contacts. Kudos to the production team.

No idea what this thing is but it tried to scare me hence the stupid expression on my face…..

I can’t imagine the life of people who have to wear the ultra heavy mascot costumes like this one, all night until 1am… In Singapore’s humid, warm weather + maddening crowds. I sincerely hope they’re paid a lot.

Sam & his dream wife. LOL

Me and my dream husband.

Just kidding…. Hahah. *coughs*

Little girls and old women are the scariest ghost characters.

Holy Shiz O______O

Tomorrow (28th October 2012) is the last day of Halloween Horrors at Universal Studios!!! Grab some friends and go and have some fun. Scream and live a little. Don’t commit the grave error of NOT purchasing the Express tickets, because trust me, waiting 2.5 hours in line like 90% of the other people in the park for a single attraction is not fun at all…

I enjoyed myself heapsss and I hope USS will have Christmas themed events in December!!! PLEASE!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! No matter if you’re slutting or spooking it up, have a spooktacular time. (Omg I’m so corny). Signing off with the only relatively cute mascot of the day – an oversized voodoo doll.

xoxo,
Jess
